FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
For Parents
For Therapists
Patch is a modern marketplace that helps families find trusted, licensed pediatric therapists for in-home and virtual care. We make it simple to explore therapist profiles, find the right fit for your child, and book directly, all in one place.
Patch currently offers speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. As we grow, we will continue expanding to include additional pediatric specialties. We work closely with families and listen to their needs so we can thoughtfully add the services that matter most.
Patch does not directly bill insurance. Some therapists on the platform may accept insurance independently or provide a superbill that you can submit for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, and we encourage families to check directly with their insurance provider. We also strive to educate both therapists and parents about alternative funding options so families can make informed decisions about care.
Yes. All therapists on Patch are licensed professionals who provide their credentials, certifications, and professional background before joining the platform. We review this information carefully to ensure families are connected with qualified providers.
Most therapists on Patch offer in-home services, and many also provide virtual sessions. You can view each therapist’s service options directly on their profile to find what works best for your family.
Payments are processed securely through the platform after each completed session. Therapists set their own rates, and you will always see pricing clearly listed on their profile before booking. If you are using alternative funding sources, such as Self Determination or other approved funds, we encourage you to speak directly with your therapist to explore what may be possible.
Yes. You can securely message therapists through the platform to ask questions, share more about your child, and make sure it feels like the right fit before scheduling.
Yes. Patch was built with HIPAA compliance in mind to protect your family’s privacy. All messaging, payments, and shared documents are handled through a secure platform.
We encourage families to read therapist bios, review specialties, and message providers before booking to ensure it feels like a good fit.
After booking, you will receive a confirmation and can communicate directly with your therapist through the platform. Your therapist will guide you through next steps and help you prepare for your first session.
Cancellation policies are set individually by each therapist. You can review a provider’s policy on their profile before booking so you know what to expect.
